California Institution for Women Inmate Search and Prison Information
There are several facilities within the CIW that include Level I (“Open dormitories without a secure perimeter”) housing, Level II (“Open dormitories with secure perimeter fences and armed coverage”) housing, and Level III (“Individual cells, fenced perimeters and armed coverage”) housing. There is a Reception Center “provides short term housing to process, classify and evaluate incoming inmates as well.
The main goals of the California Institution for Women are to provide an atmosphere of safety and security to the public, visitors, staff, and the Level I/III female offenders. This facility also has a mission to provide quality health care and institution programs specifically geared to meet the special needs of female offenders. The California Institution for Women is located in Corona, CA provides specialized programs that include but are not limited to the following:

There is a physical fitness training of female firefighters selected for conservation camp placement in the hub institution at the CIW. The institution also serves as a higher security facility for female inmates in Administrative Segregation.
Outpatient and inpatient mental health services for patients with a serious mental disorder are provided at this facility. The licensed Psychiatric Inpatient Program at this facility is for more intensive treatment for patients who are nor able to function adequately or stabilize in an outpatient program.
History
The California Institution for Women was originally called “Frontera” and was the only prison for females until the year 1987. This facility is on 120 acres of land.
