RRM Miami is also commonly called the Federal Prison in Miami. The RRM Miami is classified as a medium-security federal facility that calls Miami, Florida home.

The RRM Miami also has a minimum-security satellite prison camp that they also help operate as well.

The RRM Miami also is responsible for ensuring the mental health unit, which can house 30 inmates is also operating smoothly as well.

The camp inmates oversee maintaining the grounds along with providing the main campus internal support services.

The RRM Miami opened its doors back in 1902. When the facility first opened it was only going to house maximum-security offenders. However, it would not be until 2005 when the facility went from housing maximum-security inmates to medium-security inmates.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

Just like many federal penitentiaries the RRM Miami is the same way when it comes to the sending mail and packages. If you are planning on sending mail to an inmate, you will need to know that there is a difference in the mailing address.

You should never send any mail for an inmate to the buildings physical address. All mail is denied and will be sent back to the post office. However, if you are mailing an inmate, you will need to use the following address as below:

Sending Money

The RRM Miami will give you a few different methods that you can send an offender money. The main method will be using MoneyGram and Western Union. You will use this way just like you would do for anyone on the outside. It’s no different.

Phone calls

All calls are used through a prepaid service in which an inmate can purchase their minutes from the commissary. Inmates will need funds on their books to use the telephones to call home.

Visitation

You need to be aware in order to visit an inmate in the RRM Miami, you will be required to be on that offenders approved visitor list. If you are on that list, you can come down on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays anytime between 8 am to 3 pm.

The weekend visits will be alternating on what is known as an even/odd schedule, which goes off the inmates fifth digit of their identification number. You will need to get in contact with RRM Miami to know what the schedule is as of today.

All inmates are limited to 5 visits every calendar month.
