The Butler County Jail was constructed in 1928. Since the Butler County Jail was officially built, it was then renovated in 1983 and 1992. As of current, the Butler County Jail can only house up to 12 inmates.

The second mission of the Butler County Jail is to also punish those who were officially convicted of misdemeanor crimes. These types of misdemeanor crimes can easily carry a 12-month sentence in the Butler County Jail.
The Butler County Jail has 5 cells. Three of these cells are single person sells, one is a six-person sell, while another one is a three-person cell. The Butler County Jail houses juveniles who are being convicted as an adult, males, and females.
