Northeast Correctional Complex (NECX) is a high security prison for adult offenders. The prison also houses offenders of other custody levels.
The jail has about three hundred offenders in minimum security annex site in Johnson County. there are another 18315 offenders who are within ten years of their release date.
NECX makes intensive substance use and anger management counseling programs available to the inmates.
Both sites operate community service programs. This provides thousands of hours of skilled and unskilled labor to state and local government.
NECX offenders have access to Adult Basic Education classes or one of six vocational programs. Those who do not have a high school diploma are able to earn a GED certificate.
In addition, NECX has mandatory Career Management for Success and Release for Success programs for those nearing release.
