There are 438 uniformed officers that are employed at the Eastern Reception & Diagnostic Correctional Center. Their goal is to protect public safety. They do this by making sure inmates are securely confined within the perimeter of the institution, and staff and offenders are safe.
The Academic Education team within the Eastern Reception & Diagnostic Correctional Center consists of the following:
- 7 regular classroom teachers
- 3 Special Education teachers
- One Title I teacher
- 1 office support assistant
- 1 education supervisor
Providing an efficient, positive and stimulating learning environment is what the academic team strived to do regularly. This team provides individualized instruction allowing every student to achieve their academic potential and prepare them to be successful for then they are released into the community. There can be as many as 405 inmates enrolled at any given time.
There are a number of programs and services for the inmates to take advantage of that are provided by the Eastern Reception & Diagnostic Correctional Center. These programs and services are put in place to allow the inmates to be more prepared and successful when they are released. These programs and services are not limited to but include the following:
