The Straits Correctional Facility is operated by the Michigan Department of Corrections where they supervise adults convicted of state crime and then sentenced to a commitment period by the County or Circuit Judge.
Alcoholics Anonymous, as well as Narcotics Anonymous programs, are provided for the inmates to help them recover. These programs are primarily provided through community volunteer participation. There are weekly counseling or substance abuse recovery groups.
