The Lincoln County Jail in Minnesota, more specifically in the city of Ivanhoe, is one of the oldest jails (over a century old) that can be found within the area. The original jail was shut down on July 1st, 2009 and a bigger and more functional replacement was opened in August 2014.
The jail has been one of the primary responsibilities of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department since it first opened its doors.
The county jail currently has the ability to accept up to 15 offenders at once. Offenders are divided into minimum level and maximum level security, and this includes both male and female inmates.
It is the duty of the correctional officers on staff to ensure that the safety and security of the facility is maintained. Other staff members include both medical personnel and kitchen workers.
