There are two facilities within the Pulaski County Jail. Pulaski County Jail has new detainees on a daily basis. Some of the detainees are released after putting up bail or placed under supervision by a probation agency. Then there are those who are released to a pretrial services caseload or are released on their own understanding with an agreement to appear in court.
Pulaski County Jail is managed by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and holds inmates that are still waiting to be sentenced or waiting for trial or both.
Work Release Program
Pulaski County Jail inmates that are interested in the Work Release program must apply prior to being sentenced to jail to avoid waiting to get into the program. There are some requirements in order to get approved for Work Release. The Work Release Program is where an inmate is released to go to work. The inmate must return to work when their shift is over before the end of the day.
There are trustees in the Pulaski County Jail. This is where an inmate works in the jail as a cook, as an orderly for the staff, in the laundry or in the commissary. For the inmate’s work, the inmate will get paid and sometimes time (a couple of days) is taken off of their sentence.
