Sanction Treatment Assessment and Revocation Transition Program is a low-security state prison located in Anaconda, Montana. The mission of Sanction Treatment Assessment and Revocation Transition Program is to prepare the inmate to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never return to prison and thus lower Montana’s recidivism rate.
Sanction Treatment Assessment and Revocation Transition Program serves as the training department for the Montana Division of Corrections and consists of training personnel at the Academy as well as at each facility and work unit in the Division. The Academy also hosts and provides training for other public service agencies.
This facility was built with secure dormitories that provide housing for up to 50 inmates each. Each dormitory contains a group toilet and shower area as well as sinks. Inmates sleep in a military-style double beds.
Selected low custody inmates are worked outside of the prison under armed supervision of trained correctional officers. These inmate work assignments support prison farm operations or highway maintenance for the Montana Department of Transportation.
Each program offered at this facility is designed to help the inmate and overall meet their individual treatment needs. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are among the programs offered to these inmates. Bible studies and religious services are also available. Clergy are available upon request.
Inmates are served three meals a day, and they can buy snacks from the commissary. All meals are prepared by the kitchen staff and prison Trustees and are approved by a dietician.
