Neuse Correctional Institution was designed and constructed back in 972. The Neuse Correctional Institution will only house medium-security inmates. This means inmates who are non-violent. The Neuse Correctional Institution underwent a major renovation back in 2000. This renovation was to add more inmate beds and to update the facility with the recent technology. The Neuse Correctional Institution is licensed to house up to 32 inmates at any given time.
The Neuse Correctional Institution is designated by the Faith & Character Based prison. This will provide a programmatic environment and pro-social change for inmates who actively ask to participate in this program. This program will also help foster moral character development along with cultivating pluralistic spiritual enrichment.
The Neuse Correctional Institution is composed of 2 open dormitories. 0 of these housing units will house 50 up to 74 inmates in each unit. One of the housing units will house nin incentive inmates. There is an RSAT housing unit. This will house up to 200 male inmates located in the NW RSAT center. There are also 8 inmates that are held in the Fire Hall as well. The Neuse Correctional Institution also comes equipped with a Fire Station.
