The Camp Nuevo Youth Center – Girls in Albuquerque, NM is operated by the New Mexico Department of Corrections. This facility is a medium-security facility for girls that are under the age of 16 who have been convicted of crimes that come under the New Mexico State Law.
The Camp Nuevo Youth Center – Girls have the capacity to house as many as 72 juveniles.
Juveniles that are taken into custody for offenses that would constitute a felony if committed by an adult are required to be photographed and fingerprinted. Juveniles that are taken in for a misdemeanor offense can only be fingerprinted as well as photographed if obtained by a juvenile court order from the judge.

- Behavior or affiliations injurious to the welfare of the child
- A child is charged with an offense not classified as criminal or relevant only to children.
