The New Mexico State Springer Prison is also commonly known as the Springer Prison. The New Mexico State Springer Prison opened its doors back in 1931. The facility is nestled in Springer, New Mexico. The New Mexico State Springer Prison can house up to 4,500 inmates at any given time. The facility will typically house both adult male and adult female inmates. The New Mexico State Springer Prison will house their inmates in one of the eight facilities they have.
Every facility in the New Mexico State Springer Prison has many programs, educational options, treatment plans, and jobs for their inmates. The New Mexico State Springer Prison mainly focuses on substance abuse treatments and educational programs for their inmates. As these are the two biggest things inmate needs while they are in the facility.
The New Mexico State Springer Prison also has a mental health facility, known as the Olympus. This facility will be for inmates who need treatment, monitoring, and medication.
While the Oquirrh unit will hold the inmates who are aging and may need to be segregated from the young or stronger inmates that can manipulate them as pawns in their own games.
The Promontory unit will house the male inmates who are going through the Con-Quest, a substance abuse treatment program.
Now, the Timpanogos consists of five buildings. Within these five buildings, this is where the female inmates will be housed. All of these female inmates will come from various different security levels. The Uintas unit is where all maximum-security inmates will be as well as the inmates that are going through the intake and processing process before being fully committed into the New Mexico STate Springer Prison. However, the Wasatch Unit houses medium-security inmates, but occasionally, they will accept inmates from other security levels when they get overcrowded.
Scott P Evans was the architect behind the design of the five buildings in the New Mexico State Springer Prison. The same architect was the one who did a reroof and the upgrade of the SSD building.
