About the Jail
The Ashland County Jail operates a state-of-the-art full-service jail. There are approximately 127 inmates at any given time. The jail houses inmates 17 years of age or older that are awaiting a court date or serving their sentence of a year or less.
The mission of the Sheriff and its corrections officers is to ensure that the jail serves all the residents of Ashland County while providing services in a caring, courteous, and professional manner. As they work around the clock, they handle about 2,800 criminal and civil processes every year.
Once an offender is brought to the facility, they will be booked. This booking process could take a couple hours as the offender will be photographed, searched, and fingerprinted. Once the offender has received a booking number, you will be able to find them in an inmate search. At that time, you will be able to see if they are able to post bond or not. Keep in mind the process is different for each offender based on the crime they committed.
