 Central Ohio Youth Center offers substance abuse treatment and programs designed to better an inmate’s life and prepare them for re-entry into society. Anger and stress management, small business concepts, culinary arts, auto detailing and conflict resolution are some of the life skills offered through a variety of programs. In addition, Central Ohio Youth Center offers inmates a GED program where they can earn their General Education Degree while they are incarcerated.

Inmates are also offered programs during the week such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and faith-based services and counseling. Chaplains are available for inmates who request them.

Central Ohio Youth Center operates a Trustee program for qualifying inmates. Prison trustees are inmates who work around the prison and receive a small amount of pay for their services.

Central Ohio Youth Center provides basic living standards to meet the inmate’s needs, including dietary, health, fitness, education, religious practices, entertainment, and others. Inmates are given three meals a day, approved by a dietician.

Inmates are allowed recreation time each day where they can be outside and exercise or play basketball.
