Inmates are allowed to leave the jail to go to work by participating in the work-release program. Inmates are required to return to jail when they are done working their shifts. There are quite a few qualifications that the inmate must meet in order to be accepted into this program. There is also some paperwork that the inmate is required to fill out to apply for this program.
