Jefferson County Jail, PA Inmate Search, Mugshots, Prison Roster
Located in Brookville, Pennsylvania, the Jefferson County Jail helps to house inmates who have committed a crime. These crimes can be anything from minor offenses to felonies. Most of the time, people who are in county jails aren’t here for more than a couple of days to a couple of years.
Any inmate that can be convicted of a crime can be housed here and taken care of by the Sheriff. At the Jefferson County Jail, it can only house between 50-60 inmates, so there is never a large amount of inmates to watch over.
Inmates are usually moved after they stand trial. The law enforcement agencies who arrest inmates come from state and federal agencies. They may be moved to a state or federal facility, depending. However, inmates aren’t going to be at this facility long.
Since the Jefferson County Jail is under the supervision of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Corrections Division, the facility also houses what is known as the Sheriff’s Work Van Program. This Sheriff’s Work Van program is where they will provide free labor also known as community service to many of the local government agencies, non-profits, and other organizations in the area. Many inmates who will be put into this program will be non-violent, non-security, misdemeanor inmates. The program is great value for the community as it saves taxpayers thousands of dollars a year on various county projects. Inmates will be assigned to the Sheriff’s Work Van program by the County Court rather than serving out their time in jail.
Rules are put in place to make everyone as safe as possible!
