The Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center officially opened its doors on March 9, 2002. The Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center is situated in the Sunnyside Peninsula in Pennsylvania.
The Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center will provide its juvenile offenders shelter care services, detention, alongside alternative treatment programs. The Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center will house both juvenile female and juvenile male offenders who range in age from 10 to 18 years.
The Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center only can house up to 48 inmates in the detention program, 36 inmates in the shelter program, along with 12 inmates in the P.U.L.S.E Weekend Program.
The Lancaster Youth Intervention Center’s detention program they offer will provide temporary custody for all adjudicated and alleged juvenile offenders from the age of 10 to the age of 18.
The mission of the detention program is to provide the juveniles with a temporary, yet safe place where they can do the court-mandated time for their punishment.
While the Lancaster Youth Intervention Center’s shelter program will provide emergency temporary care for adjudicated and alleged offenders.
