Inmates housed at Cedar Creek Corrections Center can also earn their GED and have access to Adult Basic Education classes. To allow the inmates to learn a new skill the Cedar Creek Corrections Center provides inmates with vocational training in masonry and carpentry. A new skill may help an inmate to find employment once they are released from prison.
Inmates are given great opportunities to improve themselves with all the programs and services listed above. A majority of the time inmates are released from prison in better shape than when they were first incarcerated this is especially true when the inmate is willing to learn and change.
The inmate’s sentence, as well as their past criminal record, will determine the custody level the inmate will be placed in.
Inmates are provided with 3 meals a day. However, they are given very little time to eat and are not allowed to have seconds. Convicted criminals are sent to prison as punishment and must follow strict rules and policies or they will be punished with a loss of privileges or even isolation.
