The Oneida County Jail is a 200 bed facility that was initially opened in 1999. The medium level security jail is nestled in the city of Rhinelander in Wisconsin at 2,000 E Winnebago St.
The jail features state of the art infrastructure and equipment that were tailored to enable the employees to effectively monitor the inmates all hours of the day.
The mission of Oneida County Jail is to provide an environment that enhances security and reduce accidents, all for the safety of the inmates and the employees.
The Oneida County Jail’s operations is one of the many important responsibilities that is mandated to the Office of the Sheriff.
Inmates include Oneida County residents, as well as approximately 50 inmates that are taken from the Wisconsin Prison System. Not all inmates at the jail have been convicted and are serving sentences. Many are still awaiting trial or are currently in trial. A maximum sentence of two years can be served at the facility.
