New Lisbon Correctional Institution is a minimum-security federal prison located in New Lisbon, MI. The inmates are placed according to their custody level which is determined by the length of their sentence as well as their past criminal record.
The New Lisbon Correctional Institution houses its inmates in dormitories on campus is similar to a school more than a prison. In order for an inmate to be considered for a minimum-security prison, the inmates are required to have less than 8 years on their sentence as well as be non-violent with a clear disciplinary history.
